A great way to start basic obedience. Students in our Puppy Classes receive tips and tricks on housebreaking, crate training, how to stop biting and chewing, as well as grooming and other fun things to do with your puppy!
Obedience is a great way to strengthen the bond between you and your dog and provides a cornerstone for your relationship. From beginners obedience to advanced obedience skills and every thing in between, we have a class for you and your pet.
Dogs who have a good start in Obedience may enjoy Agility. Dogs are exposed to full-sized agility equipment and taught various agility handing skills. Dogs progress through classes as they earn titles competing in AKC and UKC Events.
Rally requires teamwork between dog and handler along with performance skills like those needed in obedience. Rally can provide a challenging opportunity for competitors in other events to strengthen their skills. All dogs are eligible to compete in Rally regardless of their pedigrees.
Nose Work Classes
This relatively new sport for pet dogs and their owners is an offshoot of the training professional scent detection dogs receive. Nose work encourages your dog to use their natural hunting drive and unique talent for picking up scents and locating the source.
Whether you’re looking to enroll in classes, or simply looking for the next AKC or UKC event we’re holding, the Events Calendar is the place to start. All TDTC sanctioned events and classes can be found here.
I've taken two classes at TDTC. Every one is very knowledgeable and very friendly. On our first day, my dog Moose and myself skied into class, him dragging me and me having no control. After our first set of classes, Moose walks nicely beside me and even with a loose leash! Huge accomplishment for a massive Weimaraner! He's very well behaved and we look forward to taking many other classes in the future!
We took our Lucy (2 yr old GSP) here when we first rescued her. It was a great experience and really helped her and I bond and build a great relationship. The staff was extremely accommodating and educational during the ten week course. This week we will return again with our new 3yr old rescue.
