We teach and encourage positive training methods using treats, toys, and verbal praise as rewards. All instructors are volunteers and have earned at least one AKC Obedience Title with their dog. All instructors complete a hands-on apprenticeship program and participate in continuing education.

Length: 10 weeks, 1 hour per week
Age of Dog: 6 months of age by the start date of class.
Age of Handler: 8 and up
You will need a properly fitted collar and a six-foot leash; both are available for purchase the first week of classes with the dog for proper fitting or throughout the session.

$90 tuition includes ten (10), one (1) hour classes.

Continuation of Novice I class with an emphasis on preparation for coming in AKC & UKC Obedience competitions. Successful complete of a Novice II class is required to move into agility classes. Novice II classes are also encouraged while taking agility classes as they continue building a solid foundation for your dog to stay when required and work off lead. The focus of this course will be reinforcing behaviors learned in Novice I and getting your dog to work while off-lead.
Prerequisite: Dog must be six months or older and successful completion of TDTC Novice I required.

This class includes training & testing for AKC’s Trick Dog Titles. The main focus of the class will be Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Performer level tricks allowing teams to work at their individual team’s level. Dogs must be under control on leash with a flat or martingale collar. Prior completion of the Canine Good Citizen title is helpful, but not required. We will use a variety of props to perform tricks. This class is all about having fun with your dog.

Would you like to teach your dogs foundational skills for future fitness programs? Fit Dog One is designed to inspire handlers to engage in fitness-related activities with their dogs while helping to minimize the risk of injury.
The class introduces dogs to various exercise types, including cardio, flexibility, balance, and strength training, as well as mental fitness and confidence-building exercises. Each class includes a warm-up exercise, a cardio component, two or more strength exercises, and a cool down. Teaching any new skill to a dog will enhance their mental fitness, and navigating new equipment will boost their confidence and body awareness skills.
Fit Dog One uses positive reinforcement methods and is open to all dogs who have completed an obedience training class or puppies who have completed puppy kindergarten. The course runs for six weeks and ends with a skills assessment to determine if the dog is ready to move to Level Two, as well as a one-mile walk. Both the course and the walk will count as points towards the AKC’s Fit Dog Titles.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Beginner Obedience or Puppy Kindergarten.
